Flatbed loading Work Platform

This platform is used in the process of loading flatbed trailers and provides both a fall prevention system and a work area for staging packing materials. The loading platform is used for the construction of product shipping crates.  The platform is 45’ long by 72” wide and moves from a lowered height of 5’ to a maximum raised height of 12’-6”. The platform has a total capacity of 1500 pounds.  The platform can move both towards and away from the flatbed trailer on a powered drive base, guided by two rails which are anchored to the floor.  The platform can extend approximately 6’ towards the trailer.

The platform has two independent control stations with one located in the corner by the entry gate and the other located at the center of the platform.  There is a floor mounted Pedestal Control Station which includes an Emergency Stop, as well as the control for the Y-Axis movement (forward & backward) and Z-axis movement (platform raise and lower). There is also a selector switch that determines whether the controls on the platform work independently or if one would want to have both controls activated to operate the lift.  This selector is a part of the customer’s safety program so that if two people are working on the platform, it is necessary to have both operators at the back of the platform away from the work area.  If there is only one worker on the platform, they can control the platform from just one control station.  This function is selected at the floor mounted pedestal.

Other features include a dunnage (storage) area behind the back railing for storing packing materials that are used in securing the product on the trailer.  There is also a safety rail, running the length of the platform, mounted on the center rail of the platform, which allows for attachment of fall prevention lanyards.  Connections for air tools and electrical outlets are located by the control panels.
